VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. (WAVY.com) -- Police say a man was accidentally shot while dove hunting in Va. Beach. Today marks the opening day of duck hunting season.

The man was shot in the woods near the intersection of Blackwater and Land of Promise Roads.

Police say his injuries appear non-life threatening. Due to the remote location of the incident ant the fact that the man had a pre-existing medical condition, he was flown via Nightingale to SNGH for treatment.

Police do not suspect foul play and no additional information will be released on this case.
