Man Dies In Dewey County Accident

The FBI says a man from southeast South Dakota died in what is believed to have been a hunting accident last weekend in Dewey County.

The FBI's Bob Perry says several people were riding in a vehicle as part of a hunting outing on Sunday when a firearm in the vehicle discharged and killed one of the occupants. Perry says the wounded man died after being taken to a hospital. The FBI did not release the man's name.

An investigation continues, but according to Perry, it does not appear to be a criminal matter and likely was a hunting accident. Perry says no one else was hurt.
