Franklinville man, 23, dies in hunting accident
HUMPHREY - A Franklinville man was fatally shot in a hunting accident
at about 9 a.m. Sunday off of Bloy Road.
According to Timothy Whitcomb, under-sheriff with the Cattaraugus
County Sheriff's Department, a hunter was accidentally shot in the
stomach by his brother.
The investigation is being handled by the New York State Department
of Environmental Conservation which was not able to provide any more
detail about the accident by press time.
Mr. Whitcomb said the shooting has been ruled an accident and that he
was not aware of any charges at this point.
