ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM)-A Comstock Park man is in serious condition following a hunting accident in Robinson Township.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Department says 40-year-old Jim Suwal fell from his tree stand at Bass River Recreation Area and onto the swamp floor Thursday.

The fall knocked him unconscious for five hours. When he woke up around 10 p.m. Thursday, Suwal called a friend.

Using GPS, Authorities tracked his cell phone to the swampy area.

Suwal was taken to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital for exposure and head and neck injuries.
