November 25, 2008
A Stuarts Draft man died Monday after falling from a self-supported
hunting stand in West Virginia's Hampshire County, said the state's
Division of Natural Resources Public Information Officer Hoy Murphy.
Edmond Thomas, 63, was deer hunting with a friend on private property
when he fell from the structure, Hoy said. His body was transported to
the chief medical examiner's office in Morgantown, W.V.
Thomas' death was the fourth fatality on the opening day of West
Virginia's two-week gun hunting season for deer, according to the DNR.
