Man Killed in Deer Hunting Accident
Dec 7, 2008
A Stafford man is dead after being shot while deer hunting in Greene
County on Saturday. The accident happened in the Haneytown Road area.
A spokesperson for the Virginia Department of Game and Inland
Fisheries says the man was changing locations when a member of his
hunting party mistook him for a deer.
The victim was not wearing the blaze orange that hunters are required
to wear during deer hunting season.
Authorities say it's too early to determine whether charges will be
filed.
