A Brookings area man suffered non-life threatening injuries Friday
after he was shot in the head and neck in a hunting accident .
Brookings County Sheriff's Department officials have identified the
victim as 24-year-old John Feldhacker. Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring
said Feldhacker and 56-year-old Fereidoon Delfanian, of Brookings, were
hunting together at a public walk-in area northwest of Brookings.
A pheasant got in between the two when Delfanian shot at it with a
shotgun, accidentally hitting Feldhacker. Deputies learned of the
shooting when they were called to the Brookings Hospital Emergency Room
at 6:15 p.m. Friday. Sebring said no charges will be filed in the
accident.
