Tragic hunting accident claims man's life in Cameron Parish

LAKE CHARLES (KPLC) - A hunting accident turns tragic in Cameron
Parish. 7 News has confirmed that the Cameron Parish Sheriff's Office is
investigating a shooting death involving two hunters. Cameron Sheriff
Theos Duhon says they responded to a call for help around 8:49 Monday
morning off Highway 27 just a mile west of Cameron Prairie Refuge.
Sheriff Duhon says the two men were hunting on private property when
one of the men accidentally shot the other. 43 year old Patrick Hebert
was declared dead at the scene. The name of the shooter is not being
released at this time, but Sheriff Duhon says it appears to be an
accident. Officers continue to investigate and will forward the case to
the District Attorney's office for review.
