Muscatine man injured in hunting accident

MUSCATINE, Iowa (AP) - State officials say a Muscatine man was shot in the foot by another man while deer hunting north of Muscatine over the weekend.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says Joseph Petersen was shot by Gary Lilienthal, of Coralville, on Sunday. Lilienthal was shooting at a moving deer, but missed and hit Petersen in the foot.

Peterson was taken to a Muscatine hospital, and transferred to University Hospitals in Iowa City.
