FL: Hunter shot while hunting rabbits
Fla. man on rabbit hunting trip accidentally shot
(Published February 21, 2009)
BELLE GLADE, Fla. - Authorities in Palm Beach County say a man is
recovering after his hunting partner accidentally shot him.
The sheriff's office says the pair were hunting rabbits east of Belle
Glades when the man was struck in the torso Friday afternoon. It's unclear
whether the hunter's .22-caliber rifle mistakenly went off or if the injured
man got in the way of a shot.
Sgt. Pete Palenzuela says the man's wounds are not believed to be life
threatening and he's being treated at Delray Medical Center.
Authorities did not release the men's names.
