May 1, 2009
WHEELOCK, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police say a 17-year-old from Lyndon
Center was shot and killed by his father Friday morning while the two were
turkey hunting in the town of Wheelock.
Police say Jacob Kadamus was shot with a shotgun after his father,
45-year-old Kevin Kadamus, fired at what he believed was a turkey.
A preliminary investigation found the Jacob Kadamus left his original
hunting area and crossed into his father’s area.
Police say that when rescue personnel arrived at about 6 a.m. they found
Kevin Kadamus trying to help his son, but Jacob died at the scene of the
shooting.
Game Wardens and police are investigating. Once the investigation is
finished, the case will be turned over to the Caledonia County state’s
attorney’s office.
