Mount Pleasant man dies in hunting accident

UNION TOWNSHIP -- A 23-year-old Mount Pleasant man died of a gunshot wound to the head in an Isabella County hunting accident.

The Morning Sun of Mount Pleasant reports Christopher John Andera was pronounced dead Thursday night after police were called to the scene in Union Township, located just outside Mount Pleasant.

Police said Andera was alone and family members went looking for him when he did not return from hunting. Michigan State Police Trooper Sean Harmon says the death isn’t considered suspicious.

The accident is under investigation.
