Body Likely That Of Missing Hunter Gabrilska Last Seen Friday

BOSTON -- Searchers believe they have found the body of a man who reported missing after a hunting trip last week in West Townsend.

A body of a man was found in the area where searchers were looking for Greg Gabrilska, 51, of Leominster on Monday night in the Townsend State Forest. The body, which has not been positively identified, was found about a 30-minute walk from Gabrilska's vehicle.

Gabrilska was reported to have gone hunting on Friday, Sept. 11. After his car had not moved for a few days, police began searching for the man on Sept. 13.

An autopsy will be performed Tuesday to determine positive identification and cause of death.

The Department of Conservation and Recreation, Environmental police, North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council and state police helped Townsend police and fire in the search.
