Hunter found dead in Delta
BETHEL ISLAND - Authorities discovered the body of a San Ramon man
missing since Wednesday when his capsized boat was found near Bethel Island,
the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office said.
Tim Murray, 45, was reported missing at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday near Franks
Tract, northeast of the island, where he had gone duck hunting in his
15-foot boat, the Coast Guard and sheriff's office said. His dog was found
in a nearby hunting spot.
The Coast Guard, four sheriff's marine patrol boats and sheriff's
helicopter STARR 1 searched the area before stopping for the night about 10
p.m.
The search resumed Thursday morning. Murray's body was found in the early
afternoon in the Delta near where he was believed to have gone missing,
sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee said.
An autopsy was scheduled for this morning, Lee said.
