November 27, 2009
SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV - A seventeen-year-old from Shepherdstown is recovering
after being shot in a hunting accident Thursday evening.
Authorities say the teen was accidentally shot in the abdomen when he was
hunting with his father off of Turner Lane in Shepherdstown.
The teen's father was standing beside his son when it happened, and is
not sure who fired the shot, or where it came from.
The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources is investigating the
incident.
NBC25 is told the teen is now in stable condition. He was first taken to
City Hospital in Martinsburg and operated on, then transferred to Children's
Hospital in D.C.
