MORGAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – A boy was hospitalized Thursday evening after being in Morgan County.

Few details have been released, but Morgan County authorities confirmed the boy was shot around 6:00 p.m. in Lancing.

Reports from the scene indicated it happened while the 15 year old was hunting with family members in a wooded area near the intersection of Genesis Road and Big John Road. He was apparently shot in the face, and family members rushed him to the nearby Williams Market & Deli to meet up with responding paramedics.

Authorities haven’t said what type of gun was used or the extent of the boy’s injuries.
