NY: teen shoots self in chest in hunting accident

A teenage hunter was injured Sunday morning in the town of Pamelia when
his shotgun discharged, shooting him in the chest, according to the
Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.
Kenneth D. Clark, 17, Carthage, was hunting from an area of thick
underbrush at 9:57 a.m. in the Perch River Wildlife Management Area when the
accident occurred, police said. He was pulled from the brush and taken to
Samaritan Medical Center. The hospital declined to comment on his condition
Sunday night.
Brownville, Dexter and Evans Mills emergency responders, the Brownville
Highway Department and Brownville/Glen Park and state environmental
conservation police assisted deputies at the scene.
State environmental conservation police continue to investigate the
incident.
