OH: Hunting Accident Injures One

January 11, 2010

A hunting accident in Washington County has put one man in the hospital with serious injuries.

39-year-old Craig Bradford, of Lima, Ohio was hunting in Whipple Monday morning, when officials say he apparently shot himself in the leg with a muzzleloader.

Authorities say sometime after being shot, Bradford tried to cross a creek, and fell in the water.

We're told he laid in the water until EMS arrived, and transported him to Marietta Memorial Hospital.

Bradford is being treated for the gunshot wound as well as hypothermia. He was last listed as being in surgery.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is investigating.
