Iowa man struck in leg with bullet while hunting coyote
WOODBINE, Iowa (AP) — A western Iowa man has been injured while hunting
coyote in Harrison County.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says 40-year-old Rex Baxter of
Woodbine was injured Saturday. According to the department, Baxter was
putting his high-powered rifle in a vehicle when it fired. Authorities says
a bullet struck Baxter in one leg and became lodged in his other leg.
The department says the incident is under investigation.
Authorities say Baxter was taken to a hospital in Missouri Valley and
then transferred to Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Neb.
