Man shot in foot Monday in apparent hunting accident
A Lake St. Louis man was injured Monday morning in an apparent hunting
accident in Saline County, according to a Sheriff's Department report.
The 34-year-old man was taken by private vehicle to Fitzgibbon Hospital
with a gunshot wound to his left foot, deputies said. He was later
transferred by ambulance to a hospital in Columbia.
The man said he had been hunting with a several others in a group at a
location about eight to 10 miles north of Marshall when the incident
occurred, according to the report.
He told deputies he handed some shotgun shells to a hunting partner and
when he placed his hand back on his gun, it discharged.
Saline County Conservation Agent Thom Davidson was notified about the
incident, deputies said.
