Fort Wayne hunter shot in fall at lake
A Fort Wayne hunter was in fair condition Monday afternoon after an
accidental shooting in LaGrange County, according to a written statement
issued by Rodney D. Clear, Indiana Conservation Officer spokesman.
Dana B. Wallace, 56, was standing on a submerged pier at Nauvoo Lake
about 3:45 p.m. Sunday when he slipped and fell, causing the .22-caliber
rifle he was holding to discharge and strike him under the chin, the
statement said.
It said Wallace was taken to Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville and
then was flown by Samaritan Helicopter to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
