Man hurt in fall, teen hit riding bike
Two people were flown by medevac helicopter to the Maryland Shock Trauma
Center in Baltimore Tuesday after sustaining serious injuries in Harford
County.
Around 2 p.m. Tuesday, a 60-year-old York, Pa., man went into the woods
in the 800 block of Federal Hill Road in Street, according to Rich Gardiner,
spokesman for Harford Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
The York man went about a mile into the woods to check a deer stand and
was walking up a ramp to the stand when the ramp gave way, Gardiner said.
The man fell about 30 feet, Gardiner said.
Friends went looking for him several hours later.
"He was out there for about eight hours," Gardiner said.
Around 10 p.m., firefighters arrived and got the man out of the woods,
Gardiner said.
The man was flown by medevac helicopter for treatment of what was being
called "multi-system trauma.".
