Hunter Injured After Nighttime Fall
A hunter was rescued after sustaining non-life threatening injuries to
his legs and back when he fell several feet into a river embankment.
The accident occurred on the north fork of the Konahuanui Stream in the
Whitmore area around 9:30pm Saturday.
Fire officials say they were not able to rescue the hunter using aerial
units and were required to hike into the location and transport the patient
on foot. Rescuers were able to transport him by 1:15am Sunday.
The victim was hunting with two other men at the time of the incident. He
was described to be "alert and responsive" when being rescued.
