Hunter shot, killed by uncle in Franklin County

LOUISBURG, N.C. - A man was killed in a hunting accident in Franklin County on Sunday. It happened near Rocky Ford in Louisburg.

Lt. John Reams, with the state wildlife commission, says an 18 year-old man and his 51 year-old uncle were hunting when the uncle swung his gun to shoot a dove. Reams said the gun went off at the base of the nephew's head and he was killed instantly.

An autopsy will be performed in Chapel Hill. The identity of the victim has not been released.
