Hunter shot, killed by uncle in Franklin County
LOUISBURG, N.C. - A man was killed in a hunting accident in Franklin
County on Sunday. It happened near Rocky Ford in Louisburg.
Lt. John Reams, with the state wildlife commission, says an 18 year-old
man and his 51 year-old uncle were hunting when the uncle swung his gun to
shoot a dove. Reams said the gun went off at the base of the nephew's head
and he was killed instantly.
An autopsy will be performed in Chapel Hill. The identity of the victim
has not been released.
