Police search for hunter missing in Lewis County
CROGHAN - Police were searching late Sunday for a 67-year-old hunter who
separated from his hunting party.
He apparently went missing after having a diabetic attack, rescuers said.
Police did not release the missing man's name, but said at a search
command post here Sunday night that his all-terrain vehicle and shoes had
been found. Hypothermia is a concern because the man likely is barefoot and
the ground is wet, said rescuers, who were following tracks from the ATV.
Rescuers were combing the woods from Cotton Road to Texas Road after 9
p.m. Sunday.
More than 10 cars, presumably of volunteer searchers, were parked at the
command post. Police did not release additional information.
