Horseheads man dies in hunting accident
A 78-year-old Horseheads man died Friday morning in what police have
ruled a hunting accident.
State police in Horseheads said Paul A. Serosky of Watkins Road was
hunting coyotes at his home Friday morning on his lawnmowing tractor when a
gun leaning against the tractor accidentally fired.
Police said they were notified at about 8:20 a.m. Friday. Emergency
responders tried to save Serosky's life, but he was taken to Arnot Ogden
Medical Center, where he died in surgery, police said.
Police said the investigation is closed, and the shooting has been ruled
accidental.
