MN, Grouse hunter accidentally shot by brother in St. Louis County
ORR, MINN. - A St. Paul man was injured early Saturday in a hunting
accident north of Orr in northeastern Minnesota.
The St. Louis County sheriff's office said Daniel Paul Liska, 48, was
hunting grouse with his brother, David Richard Liska, 49, of Forest Lake,
near Elephant Lake.
The Mesabi Daily News of Virginia reported that the two brothers were
separated by 25 to 30 yards when a grouse was flushed and David Liska shot
at it. He did not see his brother. Pellets hit Daniel Liska in the face and
hand. David Liska took his brother to the Cook Hospital, where he was
treated and released.
The sheriff's office is reminding hunters to be aware of their
surroundings and where all other members of their hunting party before
firing.
