Man killed in hunting accident
James Kenneth McAdams, 77, of 9132 Jacksonville Conway Road was killed
early Friday in what sheriff's deputies described as a tragic hunting
accident.
Pulaski County Deputy Sheriff Scott Terrell said he received a call about
a traffic accident with a fatality but arrived to find McAdams slumped over
the hood of his pickup and entangled in a cable from a gate pulled tight
pinning him to the vehicle.
McAdam's great-nephew, Michael Hutchins, found his uncle and said they
had planned on hunting that day when he discovered him and knew he was dead.
The incident occurred on Fortson Road, north of Jones Road, in the
northern part of Pulaski County when McAdams apparently got out of his
vehicle to open the gate, officials said.
Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene, but Terrell
said paramedics also couldn't find a pulse.
Deputy coroners Patrick Miller and Gerome Hobbs arrived and pronounced
McAdams deceased. .
