After a day of searching, hunter still missing in eastern Utah
The search will resume Monday for an 83-year-old man missing in Duchesne
County.
The man, from the Salt Lake City area, has been missing since Saturday
afternoon. He was hunting in Dry Gulch, about 7 miles north of Altamont,
said Duchesne County Sheriff Travis Mitchell. The man's name had not been
released.
Mitchell said the man was following people on all-terrain vehicles but
stopped without the others realizing. He hiked and found some other hunters
about 3 p.m. Saturday, Mitchell said. The group of hunters said the man
reported he was fine and knew where his ATV was. Mitchell said the man had
been lost in the area before and his daughter has said he has no health
problems.
A search Sunday stopped about 8 p.m.
