WV: Teen hunter shot

November 20, 2010

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. -- A 17-year-old boy who was shot in the leg Monday evening during a hunting accident is expected to be OK.

The teen was out in the woods with his brother, dad and uncle. He shot and killed a deer. As he ran toward it, he tripped and fell. This caused the gun to go off, shooting the teen in the leg.

It happened around 6 p.m. Monday along Derricks Creek Road in Sissonville.

Although the boy was flown to the hospital, he is expected to make a full recovery.
