Hunter Shot On First Day Of Ohio Deer Gun Season Ohio Division Of
Wildlife Investigates Carrollton Incident
CARROLL COUNTY, Ohio -- A Carrollton man is being treated at Aultman
Hospital after he was shot in the leg by a fellow hunter Monday afternoon.
According to the Ohio Division of Wildlife, Stephen Dowell, 46, was shot
just after 4 p.m. while hunting in the southeastern corner of the county.
Rescuers used all-terrain vehicles to carry Dowell from the woods to a
waiting medical helicopter. His condition was not immediately available.
A wildlife officer told NEWS9 charges could be filed, but that will not
be determined until the investigation is complete.
