NEMO hunting accident sends one to hospital
11.15.2010
NEAR NOVELTY, MO. -- A weekend deer hunting accident in northeast
Missouri
sent one man to the hospital.
Matt Wolken from the Missouri Department of Conservation told KTVO Monday
that Daniel Nordin, 40, of Reeds Spring, Missouri accidentally shot himself
in the hand and foot around 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
Nordin was hunting on private property outside Novelty when the accident
happened. The land belonged to a friend of his.
Wolken says Nordin was getting down from a tree stand when he dropped his
rifle.
The weapon discharged when it hit the ground, hitting Nordin in the hand
and
foot.
Nordin was taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment and
then
transferred to a Columbia hospital.
