Okla. Man Dies In Deer Hunting Accident
November 22, 2010
LEFLORE COUNTY, Okla. -- Leflore County, Okla., Undersheriff Donnie
Edwards said that a 46-year-old man was found dead in a tree stand Saturday
near the Glendale Community, where he had apparently been deer hunting.
Initially, police thought the man may have died from natural causes until
the medical examiner's officer reported a gunshot wound below his waist. The
bullet was found lodged in his neck, police said.
Edwards said it appeared that the man dropped his gun and it fired up at
him. The gun was found at the bottom of the tree.
The man's name was not being released yet, Edwards said.
