ARKWRIGHT, N.Y. (WIVB) - On Saturday, State Troopers investigated an
accidental shooting in Chautauqua County.
Troopers responded to a call around noon of a gunshot wound on Center
Road in the town of Arkwright. Hunters had found a man down behind his car
injured by an apparent gunshot wound. Troopers and Environmental
Conservation Officers along with a Chautauqua County Sheriff patrol
determined that the man had died from an accidental self-inflicted gunshot
wound to his chest.
The victim is identified as 37-year-old Marc Garrison of West Seneca. He
was pronounced dead at the scene by the County Coroner and removed to the
Erie County Medical Center for an autopsy.
The investigation is continuing into the incident.
