SC: Dillon County man killed in hunting accident
Dillon County man killed in hunting accident
11.29.2010
Dillon County deputies say a man fell from a tree stand on Thanksgiving
Day and died.
Deputies say Kevin Zurcher, 45, went hunting on Judge Road near Latta.
An incident report says Zurcher's son-in-law dropped him off around 4:30
p.m. He came back a couple of hours later and found Zurcher in a ditch. It
says Zurcher fell from a tree stand that was 20 to 30 feet in the air.
The incident report says Zurcher said his back hurt and he was having a
hard time breathing.
The son-in-law called 911 for help and dispatchers sent two officers with
the Dillon County Sheriff's Office to the scene.
Zurcher was taken to the hospital, where he died.
The incident remains under investigation by the Dillon County Sheriff's
Office, but deputies say it appears to be accidental.
