2010-12-01
A St. Simons man visiting relatives was accidentally shot during a dove
shoot Saturday on a peanut field north of Blakely.
According to a public safety incident report, Kimbo McMinn, 54, and his
15 year old son were hunting at the same rolled hay bale during the shoot
when the accident happened. The blast from the .410 shotgun struck McMinn in
the right forearm and chest.
He was transported by ambulance to a Dothan hospital where he was still
recovering from surgery Tuesday.
"I think he will be fine," Kimbo's brother, Dave McMinn told the News
Tuesday. "We're hoping they will release him from the hospital tomorrow.".
