Heuvelton hunter injured in Oswegatchie

The New York State Police in Ogdensburg and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation are investigating a hunting incident which occurred on December 5, 2010, at approximately 2:20 p.m., in a wooded area off County Route 6 in the town of Oswegatchie. Shawn Bergeron, age 40, of Heuvelton, New York, was treated at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center for a gunshot wound to the outer rib cage and later released.

The investigation into this incident is continuing.
