Man Injured After Falling 25 Feet Out Of Hunting Stand

DRAVOSBURG, Pa. -- A hunter was injured after falling out of a hunting stand in Dravosburg on Saturday afternoon.

Benjamin Hoblak, 23, was hunting deer with his father and a friend in Dravosburg when he fell from the stand, his grandfather John Hoblak told Channel 4 Action News reporter Ashlie Hardway. John Hoblak tells Hardway his grandson aggravated an old hip injury but is otherwise in good condition.

John Hoblak said he received a call from his daughter-in-law that her son was hurt, so he and some other family went to the Dravosburg Volunteer Fire Department. Assistant Fire Chief Patrick Ulm said that emergency responders worked very quickly and efficiently to rescue the injured hunter.

A Life Flight medical helicopter was waiting on standby at the Dravosburg Ballfield but did not have to be used. Benjamin Hoblak was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
