Man Shot in Nelson County Hunting Accident
December 9, 2010
For the second time in less than two weeks, someone was shot while
hunting in Nelson County. However, this time the accident didn't result in a
fatality.
Police say a 50-year-old man was the victim of a gun shot wound to the
upper part of his leg after one of his hunting partners mistook him for a
deer. The accident happened off of Davis Creek Road in Nelson County.
The man was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center for
treatment. The mishap comes just 12 days after 7-year-old Connor Craig was
fatally shot by his 10-year-old brother while they were hunting with their
father in the Wingina area.
