Missouri hunter drowns in river

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) — An eastern Missouri hunter is dead after drowning
in the Mississippi River.
Twenty-five-year-old Kristopher Van Meter died during a hunting excursion
on the river at St. Charles County. Van Meter and another man were
transporting materials for a duck blind when their boat capsized.
Van Meter tried to swim to shore but went under and never resurfaced.
