Hunter accidentally shoots friend in Columbia County

ANCRAM -- A 26-year-old Connecticut man who accidentally shot his hunting
buddy in the Columbia County town of Ancram on Thursday could face charges,
State Police said.
Police say Shawn Milton was unloading his rifle in his truck after coyote
hunting when he inadvertently fired a round, striking Brian Avery of
Millerton in Dutchess County, a passenger in the vehicle.
Avery, 26 was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital with a serious foot
injury; Milton could face charges from the state Department Environmental
Conservation, troopers said.
