Hunting accident kills Casey man
Jan 14, 2011
A hunter is thought to have accidentally shot himself in the head
Thursday, Kentucky State Police said.
At 12:45 p.m., Casey County Coroner Tommy Clark called state police about
the death of Antonio Hernandez, 19, who was found in a field by friends
about a half-mile from his home on Sharp Road.
The friends went looking for Hernandez after he did not return home from
deer hunting, state police said in a news release.
The investigation revealed that Hernandez died from a single gunshot
wound to the head after his .22-caliber rifle accidentally discharged.
No foul play is suspected, police said.
