Hunter dies after 20-foot fall in New Market

NEW MARKET, AL -- A New Market man died Sunday afternoon after falling
about 20 feet from a deer stand while hunting.
Johnny Hudson, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene, a wooded area behind
a relative's home in the 300 block of Mint Springs Road, according to Chad
Brooks, an investigator for the Madison County Sheriff's Office.
Emergency crews, including HEMSI's High Angle Rescue Team, responded to
the scene shortly after the accident, which occurred about 2:30 p.m.
Hudson died of apparent head injuries, Brooks said.
