Hunter missing in Lowndes Co. pond
January 19, 2011
LOWNDES COUNTY, GA (WALB) - A search continues Sunday for a Lowndes
County teen who may have drowned in a pond while duck hunting and never
surfaced.
Authorities have now identified the teen as 17 year old James Eunice.
He went missing around 2:00 Saturday afternoon while duck hunting with a
friend on Ocean Pond in Lake Park, roughly 15 miles south of Valdosta.
Authorities say Eunice was alone in a boat when he apparently fell
overboard.
Ocean Pond is just Southwest of Lake Park between the town and Interstate
75.
Dive teams went in the water and two helicopters from Moody Air Force
base have been assisting with the search from the air.
Rescue crews say they won't give up until they find him.
