Utah County man shot while hunting pheasants in Paradise
A Utah County man was treated in a Brigham City hospital Thursday for
gunshot wounds he sustained while hunting pheasants near Paradise.
Cache County Sheriff Lt. Chad Jensen said 33-year-old Steve Thurgood of
Lehi told deputies he got into crossfire when a bird jumped out of the brush
and other hunters began firing at the animal, shooting the man in the legs.
Jensen said he was transported by private vehicle to the Brigham City
Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and evaluated. He had
several shotgun pellets in his legs and was released from the hospital a few
hours after he was admitted.
No other injuries were reported.
