18-Year-Old Shot While Hunting In Copiah County Investigators Say
Shooting Was Accidental

COPIAH COUNTY, Miss. -- The Copiah County Sheriff's Department is
investigating what officials said was an accidental shooting.
Nick Nations, 18, of Wesson, was shot at about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday while he
and a friend were hunting west of Interstate 55 near Silverado Road in
Hazlehurst, investigators said.
The Sheriff's Department said Nations' friend tripped over a limb and his
weapon discharged, striking Nations in the shoulder and side.
Nations was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He
was listed in critical condition on Wednesday.
