Man Shot While Turkey Hunting in Gallia County, Ohio

GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A man was shot while hunting for turkeys on Friday.

According to the Gallia County Sheriff, Tommy Moss, 44, of Gallipolis, was shot just before 7 a.m.

According to a press release, Moss was hunting with another man near Rocky Fork Road in the Crown City area.

Moss suffered a head injury and was transported to Holzer Medical Center by his hunting partner. Moss was later transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital where he is in serious condition.

Investigators believe this was an accidental shooting, but the incident remains under investigation by the sheriff's office and state wildlife officials.
