HASTINGS, Mich. (WOOD) - The Michigan State Police at the
Hastings Post are investigating a fatal hunting accident that
occurred near M-66 in Barry County Thursday.
According to police, troopers were called Friday morning to the
scene in the 8000 block of Maple Grove Road in Hastings.
A 49-year-old man from Ontario, Canada was found unresponsive on
the ground beneath a raised hunting platform.
The original incident is believed to have happened Thursday,
September 15 in the early evening, said police.
According to a news release, the man suffered a gunshot wound to
his upper torso.
His body was discovered by a hunting companion, said police.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
