GOODNEWS BAY, Alaska (AP) — Alaska State Troopers say a
48-year-old Goodnews Bay man was wounded by a gunshot from his own
rifle while hunting moose.
William Roberts was hunting Saturday on the Goodnews Rivers when
his .30-06 fired and struck him in the right hand.
Troopers say Robert's nephew, George Bright was with him and
transported him by boat to Goodnews Bay.
A medical flight took Roberts to a hospital in Dillingham. He was
flown Sunday to Anchorage for surgery on his hand.
