Police: Hunter Fell Out Of Tree Stand

BATAVIA, Ohio -- Batavia police said a hunter has been found dead after what appears to be an accident.

The hunter was reported missing Friday after his wife was unable to get in touch with him.

Police searched until 3 a.m. but were unable to find the hunter. They resumed their search Saturday morning and located the hunter's body just before 9 a.m. in a wooded area between College Drive and Meadowbrook Drive.

Police said it appeared the hunter fell out of a hunting tree stand and died. Officers said his death did not seem suspicious in nature.

The hunter's body was taken to the Hamilton County Coroner's Office for an autopsy.

The hunter's name was not released.
